DriveCon® SloSet®

The SloSet product is a liquid solution of chemical compounds that is designed to be used in Portland cement concretes. It is pre-mixed in exact proportions to ensure uniform results. 

SloSet is specifically engineered to be used as an admixture in the production of DriveCon permeable concrete to stabilize cement hydration. By stabilizing the hydration process, SloSet extends the life of the concrete when it is batched. It should only be used in conjunction with DriveCon Pro when batching permeable concrete.

The way SloSet works is by preventing the Portland cement from reaching initial set during the hydration process. This stabilization is not permanent and can be controlled by adjusting the dosage rates.

The addition rates of SloSet are calculated based on the cement content of the concrete mix. A rate of 0.2% to 2.0% can be used to enhance placement and travel time, as well as to account for weather conditions. More specific information on addition rates can be obtained by contacting WaterPave.

Using SloSet in permeable concrete provides several benefits including superior workability, increased placement time, reduced shrinkage, reduced cold joins, extended cartage travel times, and reduced barrel maintenance and downtime associated with barrel cleaning.

It is important to evaluate the weather conditions and travel distance before adjusting the dosage rates of SloSet.

SloSet is available in 20 liter plastic containers and bulk 205 liter drums. It does not contain any flammable ingredients. If it freezes, it can be thawed and mechanically agitated to return to full effectiveness.
